Who am I?
I count myself as a Blazer fan since 1977 when I wasn't quite 5yrs old and we won the championship. I can vividly remember the excitement and it affected me enough that I joined my grade school basketball team as soon as I could in 5th grade and played till high school. I've followed the Blazers pretty thoroughly for the last 20 years and have been very happy with our current team's progress. I believe we have a group that will be comparable to the early '90's dream team we had with Clyde, Jerome, Terry and the rest of that stellar club. I'm expecting an addition to my family in about a month and I can't wait till she's old enough to tell her about the games she went to this season, including the Dec. 18th Phoenix game when Brandon Roy unobtrusively put up 52 points and snapped the Suns winning record against us. What a game! I'm really looking forward to sharing my thoughts on the rest of our season with NBA fans and Blazermaniacs. Rip City baby!

We're number one! We're number one! posted on 03/11/2009
First off - big sigh of relief that Rudy is more or less ok. I don't often want to punch people but after that flagrant I probably would've gotten myself arrested if I had been at the game. Anyone with a Lakers jersey on.....at least the team still handed 'em their asses! Anyway....I think it's doubtful that Rudy will play tonight. After losing Blake twice with the shoulder injury, they probably will want to play it safe. For tonight's card reading it looks like the team needs to keep their emotions under control because the competition is going to be rough and full of obstacles but Roy (most likely) will again led the way to a win. The cards are the Lovers, reversed, the five of wands and the page of pentacles, both upright. I hope this one is right. One step closer to the playoffs!

I wonder how many more security guards the Lakers ended up needing tonight.....

Basketball ranting from the edge. posted on 03/09/2009
I've been locked into the world of baby for the last several weeks and have gone from a relatively well functioning human to something that can't even be charitably called a zombie state. Thankfully the little darling likes basketball game noises and she calms right down or goes to sleep. At least I'll only lose my voice in the Rose Garden and not my living room anymore. Today I've been looking forward to seeing our team take a hammer to the Lakers and remind them we're still contenders in this run. The card tonight suggest we will win. The four of pentacles here seems to mean love of power & money (Kobe?), The three of wands is reversed and may mean someone doesn't play to their ability. The last one, the nine of cups represents success. We do have a good record against LA with

Daius Miles return to Portland / Tarot reading. posted on 02/18/2009
So tonight Daius Miles will be back. I doubt many will be happy to see him. The cards tonight prediction possible defeat and since I was wrong on the last reading maybe this one will be too. Anyway, the first card is the page of pentacles again but this time reversed. This can mean one is surrounded by others with very different, incompatible ideas. The second card, also reversed, is the 7 of cups. This one can mean good use of determination and will. The last card is upright and it was the Ace of cups. The meaning here can be a beginning of good things. The way I'm reading these cards tonight, it seems like Miles - who clearly disagreed that his injury was "career ending" - represents an opposing idea, however the other two cards have such positive connotations that it probably

Tarot reading for the Blazer/Golden State game tonight. posted on 02/12/2009
So tonight all the cards are upright so we should definitely win this game. I'm still trying to adjust to the new demands on my time so here's a brief rundown of the reading. First card up is the Empress. She stands for balance and stability. I take that to mean Roy and Aldridge will continue to rack up minutes at the end of games. Seems like our coach just isn't taking any chances. Second card is the 2 of wands. This one means creative ability, courage and good things to come. Maybe we'll get a few more previews of what Rudy has planned for the dunk contest. The last card is the page of pentacles which came up a few games ago for the game against the Thunder in Ok. City. It seems like a boring card in the context of this reading. Respect for learning...we have so many rookies this one cou
